Magazine ID

Mayor uses unusual form of identification.

”I didn’t have any ID on me, but they let me on board when I showed them a picture of me in a magazine,” explained Robin Goodfellow, a mayor from a town in the north of England. Goodfellow, 49, was on an internal flight from Manchester to London. Unfortunately, he arrived at the airport without any ID. “I was just about to get on the plane, when I realised that I’d left my passport at home. But then I remembered that I had a magazine in my bag with a photo of me on the front cover. So, I took it out and showed it to security staff. Inside the magazine, there was an article about me as mayor, and a photo of me welcoming visitors to the town. Luckily, the security screeners at the airport accepted the magazine photo as proof of identification. If not, I’d have missed my meeting in London.”
