DIRECT TO THE ’DAM
A direct Eurostar service from London to Amsterdam hits the tracks on 4 April. The twice-daily route will take just 3 hours 41 minutes to reach the Dutch capital, heralding good news for the four million passengers who fly between the two cities each year. And with carbon emissions 80% lower than the equivalent flight, it’s a boon for the environment, too. Returning passengers won’t enjoy a direct journey home just yet, though: London-bound trains will connect through Brussels until Amsterdam’s passport-check facilities are ready at the end of 2019.
