The iPad Pro is updated roughly every 12 to 18 months, but the next version – due next year – could be one of the most sizeable upgrades yet.
That’s according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, who believes it could be Apple’s attempt to revitalise a tablet market that’s “deep in the doldrums.”
Gurman’s report paints next year’s update as the iPad Pro’s “first major overhaul in half a decade,” referring to when Apple removed the Home button, thus decreasing the screen bezels. Gurman distinguishes the forthcoming model’s potential updates from previous tweaks and releases. Although they have seen changes to the “chips, cameras, display technology and sensors,” he argues these were not “fundamental changes.” However, the iPad Pro due out next year is set to upend all of that.
