6AM WITH… CHRISTIAN TOETZKE

HY PERFORMANCE

Hyrox co-founder Christian Toetzke may have events on almost every continent to manage, but he’s not ready to skip his daily workout habit

Christian Toetzke isn’t a morning person. But he’s happy to pose as one if that’s the only time he has to train. Training, for the Hyrox CEO, is a nonnegotiable. ‘My workout sessions are part of my daily schedule – they’re as important as any meetings I have, so I put them into my daily routine, especially when I travel.’ For Toetzke, globetrotting comes with the territory of running the booming worldwide phenomenon that is Hyrox. He returned to his home in Germany just a few hours ago, having spent the weekend welcoming the first-ever event to be held in South America, with the Brazilian Hyrox in São Paulo. There’s no time for rest though because, as he explains, he needs to get his endorphins flowing ahead of next year’s budget analysis. ‘That’s never the fun part of the business,’ he laughs.
