Lumo Run

Most of us probably know the theory of good form, but staying tall and resisting those evil overstrides and heel strikes can be easier said than done. Enter Lumo Run.

It’s a thumb-sized wearable sensor that analyses your running form and makes real-time audio suggestions of technique tweaks. Easily but securely clipping to the back waistband of shorts or tights, it remains imperceptible during a run. If you do want the audio coaching, though, you have to carry your smartphone and earphones, too, with the Lumo app installed. But if that’s too bothersome you can simply sync up the data post-run (though an initial evaluation run requires the phone). The trade-off is you’re not not getting the live help.
