GARDEN MAKEOVERS
Peter and Julie Richmond wanted to create a garden they could enjoy all year
round when they moved into their two-bedroom semi-detached cottage in
Chelmsford. With this in mind, the starting point was the creation of a decked and covered area at the bottom of the garden that also incorporated a den. “It’s ideal for all seasons because it’s sheltered so we can use it whatever the weather,” explains Peter. “We have barbecues in the summer and we use the firepit on chilly days and evenings. We look forward to getting out there to enjoy glühwein and toasted marshmallows with family and friends in
December too. It’s so cosy in winter. Having the firepit makes a real difference.”
