An LGBT activist celebrates on September 6 following the Indian Supreme Court’s decision to strike down a ban on gay sex, a colonial-era measure that has been used to harass, sexually assault and blackmail LGBT Indians. The ban, said Chief Justice Dipak Misra, was “irrational, indefensible and manifestly arbitrary.”
