Baghdad—An Iraqi firefighter rests after battling a blaze on June 9 at the site of a car bombing in Jadida, a mostly Shiite neighborhood in the Iraqi capital. The suicide car bomb and another blast near a market in the city killed around 25 people, police said. The Islamic State militant group (ISIS) has stepped up attacks in Baghdad in the past month, mostly targeting Shiite neighborhoods, as Iraqi government forces launched an assault to retake the nearby city of Fallujah from the militants.
