A n uncut near mint example of a 1962 Mars Attacks proof sheet containing the full 55 cards set sold at a Heritage Auctions sale in late February at a final price of $28,800.
As opposed to progressive proof sheets that contain only one ink color, this particular sheet is the final color proof that could be examined by Topps for color registration and final detail before going into normal production. The origin of this sheet traces back to the famed Topps Guernsey auction held in 1989 at Hunter College in New York. Ack Ack!
