Islanders say there can be no mitigation when it comes to building a fish farm in the Sound of Jura.
The community met last month to voice their concerns over Kames Fish Farming’s proposal to construct a holding pen at Corpach Bay. Scott Muir, of Jura Community Council, said: ‘Our jobs depend on this landscape. There is nothing you can offer us that will alter that.’
There was a ‘strong’ turnout at the village for the meeting on November 14, which was attended by those who live and work on Jura, as well as representatives from Feedback charity, Islay Community Council and Kames Fish Farming.
