SHOPMOBILITY Lochaber has been awarded £1,500 from The Gordon and Ena Baxter Foundation to buy a new mobility scooter for use by residents in the area.
The Gordon and Ena Baxter Foundation is a legacy project of the late Gordon Baxter and his wife Ena and supports charities and worthy community causes throughout the Highlands and Islands.
Kay Jackson, foundation manager of The Gordon and Ena Baxter Foundation, said: ‘It can be very challenging for those less able to get out and about in their local area. Trustees were keen to support this group which has a very pro-active attitude towards assisting local residents and visitors to the area. It’s a great community initiative.’ Shopmobility Lochaber will use the award to buy a new onand off-road mobility scooter to complement its fleet.
