COUNCILLORS are to be asked to approve plans to install free public wi-fi in 14 towns across the Highlands, including Fort William.
The City Wi-Fi project, led by the council and funded by the Inverness and Highlands City Region Deal, aims to create free public wi-fi across the Highlands for visitors and residents and a report detailing the plans will go to the Highland Council’s places committee this week.
Councillor Allan Henderson, chairman of the places committee, said: ‘As a bed and breakfast operator, I know the first thing visitors ask for is wi-fi.
