A TOBERMORY family will be hosting a baby CPR training event next month after the life-saving skill saved their son.
The training will take place in Aros Hall on Saturday June 23, run by St Andrew’s First Aid. The event is being organised by Kayleigh and Alec Brown, who attended a similar event in Oban in January. It was there Alec learned to administer CPR, which eventually saved his eight-month-old son Ruaridh’s life. On April 7, Ruaridh stopped breathing and Alec had to give him CPR until an ambulance arrived.
Speaking about the ordeal, Kayleigh, 25, said: ‘Ruaridh woke up from a nap and I went to give him his lunch. I picked him up and he flopped in my arms. Ruaridh had stopped breathing. It was awful.
