THE SECOND spring sale of all classes of cattle and sheep was held at Tiree Auction Mart on Wednesday May 11.
An increased entry on the year was sold by United Auctions at levels similar to the corresponding sale last year. A good show of grazing cattle sold well.
Bullocks sold to average £767.17 per head or 222.78 pence per kilo (£785.32 or 226.23 pence per kilo last year). Heifers sold to average £631.32 or 200.07 pence per kilo (£665.14 or 206.65 pence per kilo last year). Bullocks from Heylipol Farm sold to £1,060 per head and Ardeas led this section per kilo at 263 pence. Heifers sold to £880 from Heylipol Farm whilst Grishapol, Coll led this section at 240 pence.
