IT’S BEEN a spectacular summer for Argyll and Bute’s historic sites as Historic Environment Scotland (HES) announced visitor figures for the 2017 summer season at sites across the region.
The summer season saw Iona Abbey record its busiest season with 61,531 people visiting the site between April and September 2017, an increase of four per cent on the same period last year.
Other sites have also had an impressive showing.
