CHRISTMAS events and festivals may fall silent in future, it is feared, if plans for reducing music tuition across Argyll and Bute go ahead.
The Oban Times has been approached by a number of music tutors and organisations to raise the issue after the council’s budget consultation asks the community to choose between bins and education.
They say that from April music tuition in schools will be greatly reduced, with pupils being encouraged to visit private tutors after school which parents can be charged for.
