■ THE MARCH meeting of Lochaber Local History Society sees John Dye of Acharacle speaking on one of his many interests – vitri fled forts. The enigma of these constructions, found in a number of places locally, has bafied archaeologists and historians for centuries. John will be shining new light on the subject when he gives his talk entitled ‘Vitrified Forts of Moidart: New Evidence for their Origin’ and a compelling night is promised. The event starts at 8pm on Thursday March 1 at the Ben Nevis Hotel. Everyone welcome.
