A 27-year-old man has been disqualified from driving and fined £650 for drink driving.
Hugh Donald MacKay, of 7 Brannen Terrace, Dornoch, Sutherland, was banned for a year after admitting driving under the influence when he appeared at Oban Sheriff Court on Wednesday November 7.
Procurator fiscal Eoin McGinty said at around 7.45am on November 3, a witness passed a male asleep in a car in the centre of a junction on the A816 near Kilmelford. He returned around 45 minutes later out of concern and saw the vehicle in the same position. He knocked on the window and the accused started the vehicle and drove off before stopping a short distance away.
