Bank holiday crowds joined a Viking invasion at Dunstaffnage Castle near Dunbeg at the weekend. Hundreds of visitors turned out to experience what life would have been like for Norse men and women who landed on Scottish shores at the end of the ninth century. Enthusiasts from the Glasgow Vikings Dark Age Re-enactment Society took over the castle grounds to set up camp, complete with kitchen, forge and armoury.
