POLICE in the Highlands and Islands are urging motorists not to drive under the influence of alcohol after five drivers were found to be over the legal limit or refused to give a breath sample last weekend.
Detections were made across the Highlands from Friday morning until Sunday night and four men and a woman will appear in court in due course.
Chief inspector Iain MacLelland said: ‘It is extremely disappointing that despite many warnings, people are still found to be over the limit while driving. We have noticed a slight increase in the number of people caught this year which is very concerning.’
