The movement of an extra wide load through Oban last Wednesday, which caused damage to railings on the pedestrian island at Argyll Square, caused comment.
Finlay MacDougall complained: ‘Once again, highlights the poor planning of Argyll Square. Not to mention the joke that is George St, with three sets of lights plus various trafic islands. Zero trafic fiow and idiots jumping in front of cars!’
Nicola Wilson asked: ‘Why didn’t they take it around the other side…against the trafic…like they did on Esplanade??? Bet it’s our council tax that’ll foot the repair bill to.’
