This beautiful spot sits at the peak of Macclesield forest, Leo Oppenheim’s old home town. It’s a place with lots of memories for him. “I gravitated towards this spot so much when growing up, especially whenever I was feeling a little lost or uninspired,” he tells OM. “For me, there’s always clarity to be found in expanses of nature like this. The panoramic view deinitely brings gratitude and a space to inluence motivation.” For this shot, Oppenheim trekked up the peak with photographer Ross Heale-Whittle and his assistant in the early autumn, one cold morning. “As the fog rolled in we managed to get the shot. Five minutes later, visibility became impossible and it took us twice as long to get back to where we started out.”
