We have just wrapped up laughing at all the funny entries we received for our inaugural Final frame caption competition (see the winner on page 112) and it struck me that in our focused pursuit of technically excellent and beautiful images of landscapes and creatures, we can blinker ourselves to the lighter, carefree, experimental side of photography. The advent of shooting with digital cameras with their reusable memory cards provides the perfect excuse to cast off the shackles and just shoot anything that grabs you, moves you or simply makes you smile.
