Lauren Toyota talks food, social media and the key to cooking vegan

After spending 10 years as a national television host in Canada, Lauren Toyota founded her ‘hot for food’ blog and YouTube channel ‘Lauren in Real Life’ – both of which not only spread her witty words, but her passion for plant based food.

Having found time between vlogging, travelling and tweeting, Lauren launched her debut cookbook: 101 Vegan Comfort Classics, this year. Showing a huge variety of cruelty-free comfort foods, the book has immediately soared in popularity.

We caught up with Lauren to chat about her impressive career, vegan lifestyle and the inspiration behind her debut book.

The Mediterranean diet is famed for its nutrient-rich make up and the positive health benefits it can provide; not to mention its undeniably delicious flavour combinations.
