We stand on the eve of the DWP’s consultation on Collective Defined Contribution (CDC) pension plans, which will bring this new type of pension plan to the UK.
In simple terms, CDC plans are fixed cost pension plans (ie DC plans) that provide an income for life for members that is not guaranteed – in other words, the income could go down as well as up in order to balance the books each year.
