Ride the tide to the ends of the earth… Chris Burkard is a California-based photographer, author and explorer. He aims to capture stories that inspire human beings to consider their relationship with nature while promoting the preservation of wild places everywhere, with emotive and beautiful photographs such as this one, taken in awe-inspiring Alaska. It’s one of many evocative shots from his impressive new book, Distant Shores: Surfing The Ends Of The Earth, a breathtaking photographic record of Burkard’s search for wild and remote surfing destinations around the globe.
