Ted Belton’s portrait of maxine bailey
DURING THE MONTH OF MAY, a series of blackand- white portraits by Toronto photographer Ted Belton hung in an empty gallery space in the city’s west end. The connection between Belton’s dozen subjects, which included artist John Massey and former Toronto International Film Festival executive maxine bailey, was not immediately clear without reading the show’s text panel. Each person on the wall had been handpicked for their love of books.
