On October 11, Mount Etna erupted, sending plumes of steam, ash, and black smoke as high as 15,000 feet into the sky. Mount Etna is a stratovolcano located on the east coast of the Italian island of Sicily. Stratovolcanoes are among the largest, most deadly volcanoes.
