Winter in the rowing world isn’t quite the festive holiday many people would have you believe. It often equates to physical drudgery, a solid block of arduous training with very little racing to break it up.
Here in the UK, many of the late season’s head races were cancelled due to adverse weather, but that hasn’t stopped athletes getting busy on the ergo across the world – there have been new world records for men and women over 5000m, 6000m and 2000m among others.
