Did you know that six million Christmas trees are thrown away every year in the UK alone? Avoid waste, save money and help wildlife conservation by sourcing your tree from one of the RSPB’s ‘Pull a Pine’ events taking place every December across the country. Britain has some of the best preserved heathland habitat in the world, but pine trees are an invasive species and need to be removed. Every year, visitors are encouraged to chop down their own wild pine tree for Christmas, helping you to protect nature and avoid having to fork out for a shop-bought Christmas tree. Visit rspb.org.uk for more information.
