Celeriac is a root vegetable also known as celery root, owing to its close relation to that common salad vegetable: leafy celery. This unassuming root has a knobbly exterior with smooth white flesh inside, boasting a similar flavour to that of celery.
Celeriac has been traditionally championed in dishes from Eastern European cultures. A winter favourite when added to soups, stews and casseroles, celeriac can also be eaten raw in a coleslaw recipe, or shaved into a salad to give your vegan Waldorf an additional kick of flavour.
