Smoked ‘Salmon’
What Is It? Imitating smoked salmon is a lot simpler than one may initially assume! The characteristic heady, smoky flavour of this seafood delicacy can be imparted by liquid smoke and soya sauce, whilst the texture is mimicked by vegetable proteins and gelling agents (for shop-bought alternatives) or marinated carrots for those of us with a little more imagination and prep-time in the kitchen.
