We were blown away by the Jabra Elite 7 Active. So when it came to review their successor, the Elite 8 Active, we W were concerned: we didn’t want Jabra to apply changes to headphones that work perfectly fine as is. Fortunately, these buds not only sound on point but they’re extremely rugged. How rugged? Let’s find out.
The Jabra Elite 7 Active were already IP57rated, which is very close to being the highest ingress protection rating against solids and liquids for any non-industrial product. But not only have the Elite 8 Active been rated IP58, they’ve passed Highly Accelerated Corrosion Testing (HACT) to prove that salty, corrosive sweat won’t compromise their quality.
The buds have a similar design to their predecessor and use the same ShakeGrip technology to ensure they stay in your ears during workouts. However, a larger surface area is now covered in ShakeGrip to maximise in-ear grip. And the stem connecting the main body and tips has been shortened, which makes for a more comfortable listening experience.
