PRINT + PLAY
Wargames and RPGs have always had a strong vein of DIY running through them. Both genres essentially rely on an act of creative construction; players take a set of rules and build a game around it. Less prosaically, they glue models together, paint figures and construct scenery, all for the sake of visual spectacle. Much of this involves building stuff from scratch, and dedicated hobbyists have been ingenious when it comes to finding ways to bring their worlds to life. Now, 3D printing has given gamers another avenue to act out their artistic impulses, and more and more are turning their analog hobby digital.
