One of the most important artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Paul Cézanne (1839–1906) influenced the Cubists, Fauvists, Futurists and successive generations of avant-garde artists, completely changing the path of art. For the first time in the UK, over 50 of his portraits, from collections around the world, have been brought together in an exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery.
