My Makeover at Transliving's Transcare Salon

It was a beautiful summer’s day and I had arrived on time at Transliving headquarters in Basildon for my makeup lesson and special day as Stephanie! As I rang the bell and the door opened I was greeted with friendly smiles and was offered a drink which made me feel really welcome! Then after initial introductions I was given some privacy to change into some clothes that I wanted to wear. Pink, purple/mauve and green are favourite colours I like to wear so I decided upon a pink blouse/top with matching underwear and a light-mauve-coloured skirt to complement, and my pair of well worn in black heels and not forgetting my fair haired ‘Bob’ wig.

Now it was time for my makeup lesson to begin. I was so excited; for so long, I had been dressing at night and on my own with just some lipstick and eye-shadow put on without any knowledge of makeup skills. My beautician - a lovely lady called Jane - put me at ease, and what was so brilliant was that she took time to teach me really important aspects of makeup; the why the how and what not to do. Jane went through the practical theory before each stage of my beauty session so that when I was to apply the makeup to my face under her guidance, I had real understanding of what I was doing and why I was putting makeup in the way instructed. Jane first applied beauty products to the right side of my face and then I applied them to the left side of my face. She took me through Deep Cleanse and Toner Stage and moisturised my face. Then she taught me how to apply Dermacolor to my face having selected the one that was the best match for my skin tone, and then the foundation powder to give me a light matte look to my skin.
