I booked a transformational makeover, excursion set, and photoshoot at The Boudoir in Los Angeles (LA), California as a side-trip to business travel. It was my second visit to this studio in a year and I was very much looking forward to another day of relaxing transformation.

Frequent business travel is quite stressful, and nothing is as calming and restorative as a high quality makeover - yoga, meditation, hiking, massage, Scotch whisky… nothing works as well - and I’ve tried many alternatives. (Is it just me who feels that way?)

As a veteran of over a dozen makeover artists in the past year, The Boudoir LA had already earned a top-notch reputation in my book of experiences. I had justifiably high expectations.

So even though expectations were very high, the second time around was even more impressive, for a few reasons. First, with more experience, it was easier to prepare and communicate my desires. Second, first-visit jitters made me too fearful of venturing outdoors whilst transformed; self-confidence was severely lacking then. Third and finally, Jodie Lynn herself would be in town from London to oversee my “transformation”. So, by “British Invasion” in this title, I am referring to Jodie Lynn and pretty assistant Victoria King, both from London, temporarily running the Los Angeles studio. It was a most fortunate coincidence for me and my schedule.
