As trans people, sexual health isn’t always top of our agenda - it’s not that we don’t think it’s important, it’s just hard to know where to start! Most of the information out there isn’t made for us; it’s written about people with different bits and pieces, and often, when we do make it as far as the clinic some doctors and nurses may struggle to figure out who puts what where and what we like to do with our partner(s). It can often feel like we’re at a bit of a disadvantage in the health stakes, so how can we keep ourselves both sexy and safe?
For trans women who haven’t had or don’t want surgery, or for TV/CDs, a leaflet about vaginal transmission of STIs (sexually transmitted infections) and HIV isn’t gonna cut it! But why is it so important to be clued up anyway?
