Veganuary starts here!

It was 2016 when I had my epiphany. At dinner with colleagues, after serving us plates of raw chicken, the restaurant found their oven had broken. I sat looking at the chicken, brought into the world for a purpose it hadn’t fulfilled. For the first time, I connected with the reality of my choice, and soon after I became vegan. Veganuary is a great time to go vegan, with many resources to help. Here’s my survival guide...

1 Learn to shop (again)

Vegan shopping has genuinely become my favourite part. Throw out what you know – it’s time to get creative. My cupboards are always stocked with lentils and beans, stacks of tinned tomatoes, coconut milk and whatever vegetables I fancy. Your new vegan must-have is nutritional yeast.
