2 CHOOSE CARPOOL/PUBLIC TRANSPORT
You’ve heard that cars are bad for the environment because of greenhouse gases. You’ve heard that cars are bad for your health and you should walk more. Well, now we’re here to tell you that cars are bad for the environment, and particularly the oceans, because the slow wearing down of tyres produces microplastics that litter our sea. This is a global issue and one that is fairly new to the eco-agenda but, based on the recent research, it deserves a higher place and priority on the political agenda than it currently receives. Carpooling, opting for public transport or walking or biking where you can will help slow the wear of tyres and ease the burden on the oceans.
