Half of baby turtles that die are killed by plastic
Baby sea turtles are vulnerable to plastic pollution, according to information shared by journal Nature, which found that plastic consumption is responsible for half of the deaths of sea turtle hatchings. The earliest reports of turtles eating plastic bags date from the 1980s, with the animals mistaking them for jellyfish, and dying as a consequence.
