The amur leopard is one of the rarest and most beautiful felines in the world. They have thick white-cream fur, patterned with large and widely spaced black spots called ‘rosettes’, which cover the head, back, tail and legs. The length of their gorgeous fur varies between the seasons — growing up to 7cm in winter (from 1.8-2.3cm in summer), making them well suited for the harsh, cold environment they inhabit. They also have long, bushy tails that they wrap around themselves for extra warmth. In the wild, amur leopards are known to live for around 10-15 years, and for up to 20 years in captivity.
