GAME-WORN LOU GEHRIG CAP HAMMERS PRE-AUCTION ESTIMATE

A Yankees cap worn by Lou Gehrig circa 1929-32 sold for $312,000 in Heritage Auctions’ 2019 February 23-24 Platinum Sports Auction Dallas, far exceeding pre-auction estimates.

The cap, a serious piece of baseball history that came with MEARS authentication, was part of The Lou Gehrig Collection which featured several lots of Gehrig items. Pre-auction estimates placed the value at $200,000.

The Lou Gehrig Collection was a featured part of the Platinum Sports Auction.
