Mark Duffett, a reader in Media and Cultural Studies at the University of Chester, has a new book out called Counting Down Elvis: His 100 Finest Songs (Rowman & Littlefield, 2018). In this compilation, the music academic documents and evaluates key Elvis songs and places them in his personal order of merit, based on his views of the singer’s creative contribution to popular music.
