Marijn Kremers

Marijn Kremers, “Mario”, is a driver who distinguishes himself for his innate talent in being aggressive. It is true, sometimes it was a bit his “cross”, as in Genk in 2018, but above all his “delight”, as in the World Championship in Lonato that he recently won. Mario is one of those who, in one way or another, if he has to overtake you … he passes you. Yet this was not the X-factor that allowed him to win this year’s world championship, but rather his cunning. Riccardo Longhi, “Ricky”, is a driver who has always been found ready when needed. As he revealed to us, every race risked being his last and he knew how to make it a virtue. It is true, he has often been unlucky, but his hunger for results has never changed. See Lonato. With time, another beautiful quality in Longhi was also discovered: that of mechanic and coach. Alongside the sparkling Cristian Bertuca, he took an important Top 10 at the Junior World Championship, a category in which Bertuca made his debut.

ZAMIR WINS THE CHALLENGE IN DD2

The new circuit of Bukit Gambir, less than 2 hours drive from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, hosted the fifth round of the Rotax Asia Max Challenge. 50 participants arrived from the region. The DD2 once again proved to be the hardest fought.

Established under the name of GP2 Series in 2005, and later renamed Formula 2 in 2017, the F2 is the antechamber of Formula 1. Numerous changes have occurred in its 14-year history.

In recent months Sebastian Vettel has jumped into the headlines not only for his deeds and vicissitudes with Ferrari in F1, but also for having expressed his point of view regarding karting promotion policies, no longer as favorable as when he raced in karting when most kart drivers could afford to live an important experience with the possibility of aiming high, without having to invest exorbitant amounts.

From missiles to karts

Bill Van Tichelt graduated from the San Luis Obispo campus of Cal Poly in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering; he was 21 years of age. Up until then Bill was involved with racing motorbikes which he had both modified and prepared. Upon graduation Van Tichelt went to work in the Research and Development Department of the Frebank Company in Glendale, California. While there Bill led the design and development of a snap action mechanism for a pressure switch that was utilized by NASA in the production of the Saturn V launch vehicle.
