The crux of this is: should we still be stuffing ourselves with pasta before a long run? “There is still much debate about how best to fuel for long runs”, says Doctor Jenna Macciochi, a specialist in immunology. “Unfortunately, scientific understanding hasn’t yet provided a clear consensus on the best approach. Using available evidence combined with your own experience and goals is the best way to make the decisions on how best to fuel your training.”
