The Caine Prize for African Writing is open for submissions for the 2016 competition.
The Caine Prize is awarded for a published short story by a writer who was born in Africa, is a national of an African country, or has a parent who is African by birth.
The winning author will receive £10,000 and each of up to five shortlisted authors will be awarded £500.
