Bridgend Writers’ Circle is inviting entries for its Short Story Open Competition 2018. There is a first prize of £200, a second prize of £50 and a third prize of £30.
The competition is for original, unpublished short stories between 1,500 and 1,800 words, in any style and on any theme. Writers may enter up to two stories. Type entries in 12pt Times New Roman in double spacing on single sides of A4. Include the page number and story title at the bottom of each page. Include the word count in the top right hand corner of the first page. The writer’s name must not appear on the manuscript. Include a separate entry form, which may be downloaded from the website. Only postal entries are accepted. The entry fee is £5 for one story and £7.50 for two, payable by cheques made out to Bridgend Writers’ Circle. The closing date is 1 March.
