The Crime Writers’ Association’s Gold Dagger for the best crime novel of the year has been won by debut American author Bill Beverly for his book Dodgers. Beverly was also awarded the John Creasey New Blood Dagger, which is given for the best debut crime novel.
Peter James was honoured with the Diamond Dagger, for ‘a career’s outstanding contribution to crime fiction’, while The Cartel by Don Winslow was the recipient of the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger for best thriller of the year. The International Dagger, for crime fiction translated into English, went to The Great Swindle by Pierre Lemaître, translated by Frank Wynne. '
