The Bread and Roses Poetry Award is a new poetry prize from Culture Matters sponsored by Unite the Union, whose purpose is to encourage poets to focus on themes that are meaningful to working class people and communities.
There is a first prize of £500, a second prize of £250 and a third prize of £100.
Each entry should consist of three original, unpublished poems up to fifty lines. Poetry should deal broadly with any aspect of working class life, communities and culture and show commitment to the common people, the common good and the common music of poetry.
